So we have finally found ourselves some rain on the ground. We have had some scorching days within June, but following this rain we are starting to see and increase in worm burden and the pesky maggot season appears to have started.
Some of you will have already had conversations regarding VPS products with us, but it may be news to some that Jo Brown and Katie Weaver from Whitchurch are now fully qualified SQP advisors (also known as Registered Animal Medicine Advisors). They will shortly be joined by Emily and Steph in the Lancashire VetTech team, but of course, Coronavirus put a stop to their course which was meant to run in March!
As SQP’s, they can answer a number of queries, especially in relation to wormer resistance. They will be on hand to look through faecal egg samples and help prescribe and supply VPS products.
“VPS” comes from the medicine category POM-VPS with VPS meaning Veterinarian, Pharmacist and Suitably Qualified Person. These are in the capacity of wormers, some vaccines and fly products, of which we are expanding our range available to you. Give us a ring to ask for prices and what we have in stock.
If you’re unsure what wormers or vaccines to use or how to apply the product, we are here to help. Please just get in touch at the practice.
