Andrew qualified from Bristol in 2007 and worked in a farm only practice in South West England and Wales for 7 years before joining Nottingham Vet School as a resident in dairy health and production in 2013. He gained a Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice in 2014 and a European Diploma in Bovine Health Management in 2016. Andrew has spent the last two years working as a consultant for Evidence Group providing whole supply chain advice to retailers and working with commercial clients focusing on nutrition and milk quality. When not at work, Andrew enjoys mountain biking, running and looking after his flock of sheep.

Becky Nye

Becky has grown up with the Derbyshire countryside on her doorstep. After working as a riding instructor for 10 years, she moved into the veterinary sector working as a client care advisor. Becky doesn’t come from a farming background, and she has enjoyed learning more about the industry … including the highs and lows! At the weekend you’ll often find her enjoying the countryside with her horse Joey and walking with her two dogs.

What is your favourite food? Indian

Any phobias I want to conquer? I like to conquer my fear of heights.

Bethany Allen

Bethany has grown up surrounded by agriculture and lives on the Staffordshire/Derbyshire Border. Bethany joins us from Reaseheath Agricultural College where she worked as part of the student services team as an administrator. Bethany is an active member of her local young farmer’s club and has just completed two years as social and funding chairman for Staffordshire Young Farmers.

Where is the best place you have ever travelled to? I went on a skiing holiday in 2020 to Val d’Isere

Chantal is an experienced vet with over 14 years in practice, starting out in mixed animal and spending the past eight years in farm. She brings with her a wealth of experience in the form of mastitis control planning, bull fertility testing, and preventative medicine on top of proven clinical and surgical skills in both cattle and sheep.

Gemma is our practice manager at Bakewell – keeping everyone well organised! She is Peak District born and bred to put it in her own words and knows the local area like the back of her hand. She has always had a huge passion for the countryside and loves nothing more than a walk with her husband, two boys and three retrievers. Also a bit of a sporting fan, don’t be surprised if you see Gemma gracing the rugby field at the weekend!

I have grown up on a dairy, beef and sheep farm in the peak district helping with the day-to-day running of the farm, along with relief milking on other farms. Since finishing school I have studied for a diploma in animal science, then completed a foundation degree in agriculture and dairy herd management alongside being a reproductive management specialist for Genus.

Holly Lemm

Holly did not come from a farming background however has always loved being around animals and being outside, she originally started out with horse riding lessons on a local working farm where Holly discovered her love for farming. Since then Holly went on to working on a dairy farm calf rearing and relief milking before she decided it was time for another change and learn new skills and join LLM.

Do you have a favourite charity you wish people knew more about? My favourite charity is any charity supporting mental health/mental health in farming for example Yellow Wellies and Mind Your Head.
Why did you want to join LLM Farm Vets? I wanted to join the LLM team as until recently I worked on a local dairy farm mainly calf rearing and relief milking. Doing this role showed me all the potential opportunities there is out there and I wanted to have a go at something new. LLM vets came out to do routine vet tech work at the farm, it always interested me and the team seemed great to work with!
What is your most used emoji? Probably the laughing emoji!

I graduated as a vet in 2023 after 9 years of study at both The University of Nottingham and The Royal Veterinary College. Derbyshire is home, and I knew I wanted to stay local and build my career in farm animal work here. I am looking forward to continuing to learn lots from farmers and colleagues alike.

I spend my free time outdoors, walking my dog Sandy, often ending at a pub for a well-earned pint. Home-cooked food keeps me happy, as well as going on holiday!

Katie grew up living on a dairy beef and sheep farm, she now lives with her husband and two boys on a farm with their herd of beef cattle and a
flock of sheep. In her spare time, Katie can usually be found at the local markets buying and selling animals. Whilst still at school, she started her first job relief milking on a dairy farm which she has done for the last 16 years.

Mark Marcello

Originally from Hódmezővásárhely, Hungary, Mark joined LLM Farm Vets drawn by the practice’s progressive nature and strong, positive, team-centred approach. With a keen interest in lameness work and herd health planning, he’s especially passionate about making farming both more profitable and more sustainable for the environment.

When Mark’s not on the job, you might find them rock climbing, reminiscing about travels to Indian Tibet, or perfecting a brisket-and-potato-salad meal. Music has always been part of their life—at 16, Breaking Benjamin was the soundtrack of choice—and they still enjoy a good laugh (often expressed via the 😂 emoji).

I graduated from Nottingham University in December and am very excited to be starting my career in farm practice. I’m originally from a town on the Lancashire-Merseyside border, and I’m enjoying getting to know Derbyshire, especially exploring its lovely walks—particularly if there’s a pub involved at the end! 

At home, I am kept busy by my slightly more exotic pets – a gecko and a giant snail! 

• What are you most looking forward to?

Getting stuck in with everything and anything – especially over spring!

Definitely New Zealand last year. 

• What was your favourite band/musician when you were 16?

Probably secretly a combination of ‘Dad Rock’ bands – Queen, Muse, Keane…etc

Mikayla Davison

Mikayla graduated from Nottingham University this year having moved from home down south in Surrey. She decided that she preferred the countryside of the midlands so has came further north in the country to join the team in Bakewell. Used to the warmer weather in the south, Mikayla is often found on farms wrapped up in multiple layers. She developed an interest in large animal work during university and hopes that whilst working here that she’ll find her feet in farm work.

Outside of work, she enjoys a large range of outdoor activities including running, hiking, sailing and anything involving water. Now being in the Peak District, she is hoping to get into hill-walking and exploring the best of the places around us.

Give us an interesting fact about yourself – After spending most of my life as a non-runner, this summer I ran a post-lockdown-inspired half-marathon.

Where is the best place you have ever travelled? Yosemite National Park in California.

Tea or coffee? Can never go wrong with a good cup of tea.

I grew up on a dairy farm in the midlands helping with the day-to-day running of the farm, along with relief milking on other farms. Since finishing school I have studied for an apprenticeship in agriculture and was awarded National Apprentice of the Year. Since then, I have completed AI training. I spend nearly all my spare time on the dairy farm, teaching the next generation all about cows!

Toby joined us after graduating from the University of Nottingham in July 2025. Originally from the West Midlands, he decided to venture further north and set up home in the Peak District. He developed a love for farm animal medicine whilst at university and can’t wait to grow this more whilst in practice. Toby is a big sports fan, supporting his beloved Wolves and Leicester Tigers. He is also a big cricket fan, so if you are ever looking for his car in the yard, just listen out for the Test Match Special playing from the radio.

What is your breakfast of choice? Full English with all the trimmings (the only acceptable answer!)

Will Golding

Will graduated from The University of Nottingham in July 2023 and spent the summer setting up home in Derbyshire before starting work for LLM this September. Farm work has always been his end goal from the start of his veterinary studies, and he is excited by the variety of work that our dairy, beef, and sheep clients offer. Will is looking forward to developing his knowledge and skillset in all fields of farm medicine and surgery, but has particularly enjoyed cattle fertility work during his training, placements, and first few weeks in practice. Outside of work Will is likes to spend as much time outdoors as possible – he is a keen hill walker, fell runner, and enthusiastic (although hit-and-miss) clay pigeon shot. He is loving getting to know the pubs of Derbyshire (following the example of his colleagues!) and is looking forward to getting out on farm and meeting you all.  

Where are you from? I’m a proud Lancashire lad from Salesbury, near Clitheroe.

What is your breakfast of choice? Midweek it has to be boring old cereal or porridge (with PB + jam!) & A Full English is a weekend favourite… but we often have for tea, not breakfast!

Favourite ale and why? A Loweswater Gold in summer (can’t beat that Cumbrian delicacy), A Deer Stalker in winter (a proper dark winter brew from Clitheroe) & I love to dabble in a bit of homebrew with my brother in law.
